Class VII Field trip – Daksina Chitra

Our school organised a field trip for the students of class VII to Daksina Chitra Heritage museum in Muttukadu, OMR on 29th August.98 students accompanied by 4 teachers visited the museum.The main objective of the trip was to get to know the life style, architecture and to get exposure to the art,crafts and performing arts of South India.We were guided by Mr.Karthick .We visited 18 authentic historical houses with contextual exhibitions in each house.We also attended weaving and pottery workshops and learnt the art of pottery making and weaving.Then we were guided to a hall to witness puppet show,folk dance and magic show which was very much enthralling.Our students enjoyed the bullock cart ride.We also saw the artificial ponds and wooden bridges.After lunch,we went for shopping to buy the craft items inside the museum.The trip ended at 4.00 pm.The trip was successful and our objective was achieved.we learnt the cultural heritage of the South Indian states which was beneficial for us.It was a recommended trip especially for the school students.
