Jackfruit Day
KBV celebrated ‘Jackfruit Day’ to raise awareness about the fruit and its versatility. Every year the school purchases jackfruits from Panruti: A Paradise for jackfruit. Even this year the fruit was purchased and distributed to students. To aggrandize the celebration, this year an astounding and euphonious song on ‘Jackfruit’ was composed by the Principal Mrs. Vijayalakshmi and teachers Mrs. Gayathri and Mrs. Mahalakshmi. Students in their mellifluous tone sang the song and relished the taste of the fruit. It was an experiential learning for them. They learned that the outside of the fruit is thorny and inside it is sweet. The seeds were also boiled/toasted and were given to all students.
