International Space Day Celebration– August 23
National Space Day was celebrated in our school on August 23 with great enthusiasm, especially by the students from Pre-KG to Grade 2. The celebration aimed at motivating young learners to explore and understand more about the wonders of space.
The campus was decorated with cut-outs, banners, models, charts, and photos related to the solar system and space exploration. Students dressed up as their favorite astronauts and scientists such as Rakesh Sharma, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, Kalpana Chawla, and Neil Armstrong. They also delivered speeches highlighting the achievements and contributions of these great personalities.
The event turned into a creative and remarkable experience for the young learners. The program was graced by our Principal Ma’am, Headmistress Ma’am, teachers, and students, who together made the day memorable.
Students were introduced to the importance of National Space Day and its connection with India’s proud achievement in Chandrayaan-3 (2023), when the Vikram Lander successfully touched down near the Moon’s south pole. This historic mission made India the first country to reach that region of the Moon and the fourth nation to achieve a soft landing.
Inspirational messages of scientists were also remembered –
Rakesh Sharma proudly said in 1984, “Saare Jahan Se Achha”.
Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, the Missile Man of India, dreamed of our nation rising to greater heights in space technology.
Kalpana Chawla inspired everyone with her belief that courage and determination can take us beyond the skies.
The celebration of National Space Day truly motivated the young minds to dream big, explore science, and carry forward India’s journey to the stars.
