ANNUAL DAY (IX - XII)
Kavi Bharathi Vidyalaya celebrated its 34th Annual Day on September 5, 2025, with great vigour and vitality. As the clock struck 5 p.m., the curtain at Raja Annamalai Mandram rose, unveiling the gorgeous students in vibrant outfits, poised to render the prayer song. Following the welcome address delivered by the Head Boy, Sudhir Sai, the emcees invited the Chief Guest and the school’s dignitaries to light the kuthuvilakku, marking the formal commencement of the extravaganza.
There were seven diverse programmes featuring all students from Classes IX to XII. The welcome dance produced 30 classical dancers impressively in just a week. The mime emphasised the importance of protecting nature, while the street play underscored the need to preserve Chennai’s rivers. The shadow dance, ‘From Cinders to Stardom’, whisked the audience away to a magical fairy-tale world, while ‘Dancing Horizons’ exponentially celebrated the traditions and cultural essence of the Indian states. The dancing marionettes’ elegance and King Porus’ gallantry captured the audience’s choice.
The Chief Guest, Mrs. Aruna M. Visvessvar, MBA, M.Sc, B.Ed., Correspondent and Senior Principal of Adhyapana School, CBSE, Madurai, in her address, praised the students’ talents and appreciated the school’s efforts to involve every student. She went on to explain how an individual evolves into a renowned leader. Kavi Bharathi Vidyalaya’s Correspondent, Er. A.T.B. Bose, emphasised the need to tap and hone students’ innate skills in order to surpass the challenges posed by the digital world.
The winners of the inter-school competition and the handball tournament were awarded on stage, alongside their proud PE coaches. As the curtain drifted down, it unveiled broad smiles, decisive eyes, and hearts full of contentment.
