Celebrating the Power of Pearl Millet (Kambu)
At our school, we always encourage our little ones to choose healthy, traditional, home-cooked snacks that help them grow strong, active, sharp, and happy.
As part of this mission, our Healthy Day celebration introduced children to one of the most powerful and ancient grains — Pearl Millet (Kambu).
Pearl Millet, lovingly known as Kambu, is one of the oldest and healthiest tiny grains. Though small in size, it is packed with big nutritional benefits:
Iron: Helps the brain stay sharp and improves attention
Calcium: Strengthens growing bones and teeth
Fibre: Keeps the tummy happy and prevents discomfort
Natural Energy: Gives steady, long-lasting energy for active little learners who love to play, run, jump, and explore
Kambu is an excellent choice for children as it supports better focus, keeps them fresh throughout the day, and helps them stay strong against changing weather by boosting immunity.
Parents prepared a wonderful variety of traditional, old-is-gold Kambu dishes, turning the day into a healthy feast. Some of the delicious items included:
- Kambu Cookies
- Kambu Porridge
- Kambu Dosa
- Kambu Pongal
- Kambu Ladoo and many more mouth-watering healthy snacks!
Our school shared a powerful message with the students on this Healthy Celebration Day:
“Eat Healthy,Grow Healthy”
A Healthy Child Is Always Happy and a Confident Learner.”**
Healthy Day with Pearl Millet truly helped our young learners appreciate the value of traditional foods and the importance of choosing healthy snacks every day.
