Green Gram Day – Celebrating Healthy Traditional Food
Green Gram Day was observed for Pre-KG to Grade II students to create awareness about the importance of healthy eating and the wonderful benefits of including pulses in our daily diet.
Green gram, also known as Moong dal, is one of the richest and most nutritious pulses, packed with essential nutrients that support growing children.
During the session, students learned about the key benefits of Green Gram:
Protein: Helps in body growth and muscle building
Iron: Boosts energy and prevents tiredness
Fibre: Aids digestion and keeps the body healthy
Vitamins & Minerals: Strengthen immunity and support overall wellness
Regular consumption of green gram helps maintain a strong body, glowing skin, and an active mind—all essential for young learners.
The event highlighted that traditional foods like green gram are both delicious and nutritious. Students were encouraged to take home the important message:
“Healthy Food, Healthy Mind.”
Small changes in daily diet can bring big improvements to our health.
Through Green Gram Day, our young learners were inspired to choose healthy, traditional, home-cooked food and build good eating habits early in life.
