KIDDIES MEET AND ANNUAL SPORTS MEET

As the previous day on Dec 22 was Ramanujam’s birthday, a tribute to Srinivasa Ramanujam was paid. Function started with the kiddies walk , and drill with the moto demonstrating Kalaam’s spirit by kindergardens and Go green by class 1&2. Events went on parallel for KG and 1&2 with individual and group games respectively.

Official function had Presidential address followed by presenting memento and parent’s feedback. Finally at the finale, we had prize distribution.

It was a day filled with excitement, energy, and a sense of unity as our school celebrated Sports Day. We were honored to have Major General Indhrabalan as our esteemed chief guest along with our board members for the event. The day began on a spiritual note with a soulful prayer song that filled the atmosphere with serenity and positivity. The highlight of the event was undoubtedly the march past, a display of discipline and coordination by our school’s students.  Following the march past, the Olympic torch was ceremoniously lit, symbolizing the spirit of perseverance and sportsmanship that Sports Day embodies.Next on the agenda was a mass drill, showcasing the theme of Michaung cyclone. The students skilfully portrayed the resilience and unity of the people in the face of adversity. It was an emotional and inspiring performance that left the audience with a deeper understanding of the spirit of community. Building on the theme of unity through sports, a mass drill based on basketball was presented, emphasizing the importance of teamwork and coordination.As the day progressed, students enthusiastically participated in individual and group games, testing their skills, stamina, and determination. Everyone’s spirits were high as they eagerly competed in events such as the obstacle race, running race, and relay. The cheers and encouragement from their fellow students and supportive team mates created an electrifying atmosphere around the track. After various events, it was time for the chief guest, Major General Indhrabalan, to address the audience. He spoke about  Bloom’s Taxonomy, encouraging students to strive for higher levels of thinking and becoming well-rounded individuals. The chief guest also stressed the importance of the 3C’s- Compete, Collaborate, and Conquer – in shaping young minds.

To honour the hard work and dedication of the participants, the chief guest presented medals and certificates to the winners of different events. It was heart warming to witness the joy and pride on the faces of the victorious students as they received their well-deserved recognition. In a special moment, the chief guest also honoured national handball players, applauding their achievements and motivating all the students to dream big and aim for excellence in their chosen fields. To conclude the event, parents were invited to share their feedback on the sports day celebrations, highlighting the positive impact it had on their children. The session provided an opportunity for parents to appreciate the efforts put in by the school and teachers to ensure a successful and memorable event.

The day ended on a patriotic note, with everyone proudly standing for the national anthem. Sports Day was not just about competing and winning; it was about fostering team spirit, promoting physical fitness, and instilling core values in our students. The event was a resounding success, leaving a lasting impact on all those who were a part of it.
