Class IX Field Trip (Akshayakalpa Organic Farm)

On 3 September, the students of Class IX of Kavi Bharathi Vidyalaya visited Akshayakalpa Organic Farm in Chengalpattu as part of an educational field trip.Accompanied by their teachers, the students explored the 22-acre farm and gained valuable insights into organic farming and sustainable agriculture.

The visit began with an introductory session on the importance of agriculture, followed by a guided tour of the cowshed, where students learnt about animal husbandry, biogas production, and vermicomposting.They explored the banana and brinjal plantations and learnt about natural fertilisers and eco-friendly farming practices.

Adding fun to learning, they participated in exciting archery activities and made seed balls to promote seed dispersal and environmental conservation.A delicious farm-fresh meal gave them a firsthand experience of the farm-to-table concept.The day concluded with an enthusiastic tug-of-war competition, in which the girls’ team emerged victorious.

The trip was an enriching experience that combined practical learning, environmental awareness, and recreational activities.The students returned to school with joyful memories and a deeper appreciation for farmers, nature, and the importance of sustainable living.
